Supported Operating Environments
Current Support
Meal-Master is currently available as a MS-DOS application. This version is designed to be "friendly" to other operating system environments that have DOS application support, and will run on all of the following:
Windows Vista
Windows XP, Windows XP x64
Windows NT, Windows 2000
Windows, Windows 95, Windows 98
OS/2, DesqView, GEM
Note: Windows Vista (x86 32-bit) still supports DOS applications and will run Meal-Master. However, Windows Vista x64 (64-bit) does not support DOS applications and will therefore not directly run Meal-Master! The only workaround is to use virtualization software, such as Microsoft's free Virtual PC utility.
If you have a USB printer: Many USB printers do not directly support DOS applications. If your printer attaches via USB and you have trouble printing from Meal-Master, see the troubleshooting and workaround tips for help.
Macintosh users can run Meal-Master using a "Dos emulator" utility. See the Links page for links to a Dos emulator for Mac.
Future Support
A true Windows version is planned, but not yet available. A release date for this version has not been set.
No Macintosh versions are available or planned, however Meal-Master will run on Macs using a Dos Emulator utility. (We have nothing against Macs. Really, some of our best friends are Macs. But we personally know nothing about programming for them!)
